Product use

DICAFAS is a powdered organic acid, readily soluble in water. The product is used for dissolving carbonate and similar scales. DICAFAS contains inhibitors to prevent the acid from attacking the metal surfaces of the equipment being cleaned. An indicator is incorporated in the product, which gives a red colour to the acid solution. The colour of the solution changes to yellow when the acid is spent.

Directions for use

Concentration is determined by the nature of the deposit problem. Normal usage concentrations range from 5% - 10% i.e. 5 kg to 10 kg product to every 100 litres of system volume. The acid solution must be circulated through the system. Ordinary centrifugal pumps may be used for this purpose (no special acid resistant materials of construction are required). The unit being cleaned must be open to the atmosphere for venting purposes. The length of the time required for cleaning is depending on the amount of scale present. For heavy scaling it can take 12–24 hours to remove the lime scale. Drain the acid solution and wash system with water to neutralize the system. Please
