Hand care for the working Namibian

The heavy-duty paste cleaners: Penetone Hand Cleaner and Magnus Waterless Hand Cleaner, plus Ardrojel as the waterless gel from the Ardrox stable. They carry fine abrasives and solvents formulated for oil, grease and carbon, and the waterless types work at a breakdown site with no tap in sight. Namibian transport depots traditionally run Penetone in summer and the gentler Elite in winter, when cold, cracked hands need a milder clean — a small detail from the segmentation of real customer orders that makes a real difference to mechanics.

Chemkleen is the bactericidal hand and body soap used at factory basins and showers, and Chemkleen Clear is the clear disinfecting grade fishing factories dispense at production entrances and toilets, where a residue-free, food-adjacent soap with a kill claim is wanted for the HACCP file. In practice a food plant runs Clear at the production hand-wash points and standard Chemkleen in the ablution block — same family, same factory, each documented for its station.

Three habits: gloves matched to the chemical (nitrile for solvents, PVC gauntlets for acids — from our consumables range), one proper end-of-shift wash with the right cleaner rather than repeated solvent scrubbing, and the seasonal switch — Penetone in summer, the gentler Elite in winter when Namibian dry cold cracks skin. Repeated solvent contact is what actually causes industrial dermatitis; the routine above is what keeps thirty-year tradesmen’s hands out of the clinic file.

Antisep 100 is an alcohol-based hand antiseptic blended to the WHO-recommended formulation — the specification hospitals adopted worldwide — and produced at our Windhoek factory in bulk packs as well as small bottles. Compared with retail imports it is typically stronger on actual alcohol content, far cheaper per litre in refill format, and always available locally. Depots, schools, ministries and factories mount our dispensers at entrances and refill from 5 L; the consumables range supplies the dispensers themselves.
