Product use

ALUKLEEN is a cleaner suitable for use in aluminium alloys, steel, cast iron, brass, magnesium and other metals. Used for: 1. Soak cleaning aluminium and magnesium alloys prior to finishing operations, such as spot welding, anodizing, chemical conversion coatings and metal bonding. 2. Steam cleaning operations on metals, where a free-rinsing, synthetic detergent-type product is necessary.

Directions for use

Mild steel is suitable for tanks. Solution concentration: depends on the particular soil condition encountered, but the usual recommendations are from 25g to 50g per litre. Temperature: should be above 70 C preferably about 90 C. Cleaning time: 3 minutes of more depending on the soil. Rinsing: ALUKLEEN rinses easily and completely, even in cold water. Hot water is preferred however, since some soil residues rinse more readily in hot water. The rinse water should be clean and flowing if possible. Steam Cleaning: A stock solution of 25–40 g/litre of ALUKLEEN is made up in the cleaner solution tank of the steam generator. This may be increased or reduced appreciable for special needs. It is best to dissolve ALUKLEEN in a bucket of warm water and pout the resultant solution into the steam cleaner tank. This procedure prevents undissolved cleaning compound from clogging the liners and pump of the steam cleaning equipment. A minimum pressure of 730 KPa should be used. Best results are obtained with 1300–1500 KPA. For Dip application: 25–40 g/litre ALUKLEEN at 80 C. Ref. No. 0 1 / 2 4
