Solvene 44
SolveneTechnicalFast-drying solvent cleaner for electrical parts (liquid) — minimal downtime before re-energising.

Mine electrical maintenance runs on solvent discipline: motors, switchgear and control gear cleaned residue-free, re-energised fast, deep underground or far up a dusty hill. The mining sheet lists both Solvene 44 and 33 as “electrical cleaner” — the fast-drying grade first, because on a mine, downtime is the currency.
Flammable-goods handling on mines runs under permit and storage regulation; SDS documentation and quantity guidance ship with the product.
Issue Solvene in one-litre labelled bottles from stores — the drum stays in the flammables store, the bottle rides the toolbag, and the audit finds both where they belong.
The lines mining buyers draw from this category most.

Downtime arithmetic: Solvene 44’s faster flash-off shortens the cleaned-to-re-energised window, and on a mine that window is measured against production loss per hour. Solvene 33 remains the volume workhorse for planned maintenance where evaporation time is free; 44 owns the breakdown work. Both leave contacts residue-free — the choice is purely about when the switch may close again.
It makes cleaning frequency a protection measure: ore dusts loaded with mineral conductors track across insulators and invite flashover, so motors and switchgear on Namibian mines clean on schedule, not on visible dirt. The method matters too — vacuum or brush the bulk dry first, then Solvene the remainder; solvent applied straight onto heavy dust just relocates a conductive slurry into the windings. Dry first, dissolve second.
Vapour is the hazard multiplier: forced ventilation before and during work, no hot work in the vapour zone, quantities underground limited to the task, containers sealed the moment pouring stops, and re-entry/re-energising held until evaporation is verifiably complete. The mine’s flammables permit system will say all this; the practical discipline is taking down only what the job needs. Small bottles, filled at surface stores, beat drums in a substation every time.
A ventilated flammables store away from oxidisers and ignition, drums grounded during decanting, stock rotated first-in-first-out (heat ages solvent seals), and issue in labelled pump bottles rather than open tins — evaporation in site heat steals more solvent than the work does. Cernol supplies SDS and storage guidance sized to your holding; most belt sites settle on a monthly Solvene delivery matched to the maintenance plan.
