It protects the mixed metals of diesel-engine jackets and heavy-equipment cooling circuits against corrosion, which is the dominant failure mode in closed systems.

Because they guard the two liquid systems every diesel machine depends on: the closed cooling circuit and the fuel tank. Namibian heat cycles condense water into both — in the coolant it drives corrosion, at the fuel–water interface it feeds the microbial growth that blocks filters. CCW 5 films the cooling circuit’s metals; Chemicide No 7 sterilises the tank. Fleets that dose both stop having either class of breakdown.

Dose to circuit volume, check the indicator colour at every service, and top up when it fades — the whole programme fits inside an operator’s daily walk-around.
