Each number is a distinct formulation for a defined job, not a strength grade. Magnus 92 is a workshop floor powder; Magnus 88XL an aluminium acid detergent used at 1:19; Magnus 215 a heavy alkaline cleaner (not for aluminium or zinc); Magnus 614 a radiator-cleaning powder; Magnus 645 a ferrous decarbonising bath powder; Magnus 755 a multi-metal solvent decarbonising bath; Magnus 148 a transport and aircraft cleaner; Magnus 152 a hot-tank powder. Tell us the soil and the metal and we will name the right number — specifying Magnus is what our technical team does daily.

Some numbers are, some are emphatically not — that is why the range exists. Magnus 215 attacks aluminium, zinc and die-castings and must stay on steel; Magnus 88XL is the aluminium acid detergent (diluted 1:19); Magnus 91 is the aluminium-safe low-foam alkaline powder; Magnus 755 is multi-metal safe for mixed assemblies in a bath. Check the product page before dosing a bath with mixed components, or ask us — the factory that blends the product can tell you exactly what it will and won’t touch.

Three practical reasons. It is blended in Windhoek, so drums are days away, not weeks on a ship — and a mine or fleet standardising on Magnus is not hostage to import interruptions. It is formulated for Namibian conditions: hard borehole water, fine dust in the grease, high ambient temperatures. And the manufacturer’s technical team is a phone call away in your time zone — if a bath underperforms, we adjust the recommendation (or the blend) rather than reading you a data sheet from overseas.

Yes — the bath formulations (Magnus 755, Magnus 645, and Decarboniser 666 alongside them) are designed as re-usable tank charges: components soak, the bath is skimmed and topped up, and the charge keeps working for months. Cost per cleaned component falls the more the tank is used. Keep the tank covered, follow the top-up guidance on the label, and run Magnus 755 preferably in a mild-steel tank. When the charge is finally spent, we advise on responsible disposal.
