By metal and by soil. Magnus 152 is the hot alkaline tank for steel with grease and oil. Magnus 645 is the ferrous-only powder bath when carbon, rust and paint must come off together — reconditioning territory. Magnus 755 is the multi-metal-safe solvent bath for assemblies where aluminium, brass or die-cast pieces share the tank with steel, run preferably in a mild-steel tank. Putting an aluminium housing in a 645 charge is the classic (and expensive) mistake the range exists to prevent.

Oil in a weld zone becomes porosity; oil on a test surface blocks penetrant. A proper degrease — MPC for general soil, Solvene for a residue-free final wipe — is the difference between a weld that passes X-ray and one that gets cut out, and between an Ardrox penetrant test that finds the crack and one that finds nothing because the crack was full of grease. Engineering inspectors treat surface preparation as part of the test, and so should the workshop.

A charged bath, maintained: the Magnus bath products are formulated for re-use, so the tank is topped up rather than dumped, and cost per component falls with every batch through it. Pair the bath with a drum of MPC decanted at the wash station for spray-and-wipe work, and keep aerosols (Solvene 222) for the toolbox only. Workshops that clean everything with aerosols pay ten times the chemistry cost of workshops that run one well-kept tank.

Absorbent discipline plus scheduled scrubbing: Peat D ringed around lathes and saws where coolant and oil land daily, swept each shift, and a weekly Magnus 92 powder scrub of walkways before the film polishes glassy under boots. Mark the absorbent zones on the floor — crews maintain what they can see. It is the two-product routine from the engineering segmentation sheet, and it is what keeps the safety file free of slip entries.
